Steve was killed on the 11th July 2007 by some sick coward.
I never knew Steve but could see he was very loved and a wonderful person. So wanted to do this for
his family and friends.
This is from the Daily Echo.
FRIENDS are laying flowers outside a pub in Bournemouth after a 41-year-old man was stabbed there
last night.
Steve Galsworthy, who was the pub manager, died in the Royal Bournemouth Hospital after being
attacked with a knife.
A friend Fred Jones said: "I have known him for years and he was nice bloke. He had a
girlfriend from Tenerife and he was planning to move to Spain."
A note on a bunch of flowers left by the door of the pub reads: "Steve, Never to be forgotten
mates 4 life" and was signed Tony the Bolt, Karen and Mot.
Police were called to The Lions Head, formerly known as Samson's, 142 Holdenhurst Road at 8pm
on Wednesday after reports of knife attack.
The pub and the car park behind it have been cordoned off by police while they carry out a forensic
investigation.
According to a police spokesman a 39-year-old Bournemouth man has been arrested and is helping
police with their enquiries.

another report written 13th July 2007. Daily Echo.
FRIENDS have told of their shock after a Bournemouth pub manager died from stab wounds following an
incident at his pub.
Steve Galsworthy, 41, was attacked with a knife in the Lion's Head pub on Holdenhurst Road.
Police were called to the pub, formerly known as Samson's, at 8pm on Wednesday after reports of
a stabbing.
Mr Galsworthy was taken to Royal Bournemouth Hospital, where he later died of his injuries.
Police cordoned off the pub and adjoining club Sound Circus on Thursday while forensic officers
examined the scene for clues.
A witness said Mr Galsworthy was stabbed several times in the back, in front of his girlfriend and
other horrified drinkers.
A friend who was in the pub with Mr Galsworthy on the night said: "I went out of the pub for a
cigarette and a mate came running out and said there is a very serious situation.
"I ran back into the pub and I saw Steve covered in blood saying: Help me'."
The friend, who does not wish to be named, said: "The whole community is going to be affected.
Steve was a straight-talking honest and upstanding man who will be badly missed."
Yesterday friends were laying flowers and leaving cards outside the pub.
One of the notes read: "Steve: Never to be forgotten, mates 4 life" and was signed Tony
the Bolt, Karen and Mat.
Another read: "Steve, thanks for excellent nights and always giving a warm welcome. You are
always in our hearts. Mel, Rob and family."
Mike Johnson, who works in a printing shop near the pub, said: "Steve was often seen walking
along the street with his German Shepherd. He was a lovely bloke. I am sure a lot of people are
going to be as sad as we are."

Former girlfriend of four years Julie Kershaw said: "My nickname for Steve was Tigger because
he was a bouncy person. He could be the life and soul. But he was also a very thoughtful and
charitable person. It is strange for someone who worked as a doorman but you will never hear anyone
with a bad word to say about him.
"He acted as a father to my three children and they are just distraught to hear the news.
"My heart goes out to Steve's mum, dad, brother and his present girlfriend. He touched
people's hearts."
Mr Galsworthy was a talented singer and formed a Paul Weller tribute act in 2005.
He performed at last year's Christchurch Carnival and told friends he hoped he would be
remembered for his music.
Another friend, who worked with Mr Galsworthy regularly and who last saw him very early on Wednesday
morning, said: "This brings home the vulnerability of people who work in the licensing trade.
"It is really sad because he had just announced his engagement, his girlfriend had come over to
Bournemouth a few weeks ago and they were planning to move to Tenerife.
"Steve always said the pub would kill him, but I don't think he meant like that."
Detective Chief Inspector John Crossland from the Major Crime Investigation Team is leading the
investigation.
A post mortem was carried out by a Home Office pathologist at Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester
on Thursday.
A police spokesman said a 39-year-old Bournemouth man has been arrested and is helping police with
their enquiries.
The man had gone to a police station voluntarily.
Hi Steve
We only met you once back in May on that sunny afternoon with Steph next to you and Harry tagging along, tugging.
I remember seeing your guitars and kit in the flat and I thought.... Hey this guy could teach me a thing or two - he's a pro....
Thank you for meeting Steph and giving her hope and joy. We were looking forward to getting to know you a little better, hearing about your plans and maybe coming over to paradise island over there in the sun.
Dom & Liz met you and were impressed. If he was, we were too.
We did share a coffee in the cliff cafe. Small beer perhaps, a slow start. I remember thinking what a shame that Millie, our dumb pooch, could not be bowled over by Harry. (Samson and Delilah or something!!!)
Although our ways have parted, memories will carry on. You must have made such an impact on so many people. What a guy! So sad, so many shattered dreams. But dreams never fade, I guess. Maybe we will all learn something from your passing.
Goodbye.
George & Miriam

I can't quite believe what has happened. I loved the Villa, and I was so happy when you let me work there all of those years ago. The last time I saw you was in May, when you said, 'bloody hell go on then' when I was cheeky enough to suggest that as I worked there 7 years ago I should be let in for free. I don't go out in Bournemouth enough any more, but when I do, it always ends up up at your place; The Villa/Sound Circus. I can't believe we won't see you again. Condolences to all family and friends. You will be missed.
i've been a regular at the club for 7-8 years, and what sets it apart from all the other clubs are the people that work there. they're not your typical bouncers, always friendly, and have always been there to have a laugh with and give me lots of hugs over the years. the club without steve will never be the same, he's always looked out for us and i have many fond memories of him. it was so nice to see him so happy in recent months and it's awful that he was taken just as he was about to start a new life. one of the last myspace comments he left me said how much he had enjoyed seeing us all have such at great time at the club the night before without even a hint of trouble and that we had almost restored his faith in humanity. it's so unjustified that something so brutal could happen to someone like him.
RIP Steve
Baby I still cant believe you have gone. This is the hardest thing I have ever had to deal with. We only had a few more weeks and we were going to be starting our new life, planning the wedding and finally getting some sun.
I still remember you suprising me by flying out back in April, how nervous we both were and how quickly those nerves went leading to an amazing 3 days.
You birthday in March was something I will never forget, going to that chinese restaurant was the best thing that I could have done because it brought me to you.
I cant imagine listening to Umbrella without you now, and I keep hearing the first song you sent to me....you know which one I mean.
I miss you so much and will never ever get over this. I love you my baby, I wish it had been me instead of you, nothing is going to take this pain away.

We were both getting out
You selfish barstard, I loved you so much mate. We both had 1 goal, to get out of it, to leave, to start again. I was looking forward to visiting you and Steph next year.
and Elysa is right, far to much Paul Weller was played, but whenever I challenged you about it, it's the one thing you never backed down on, you said' if I can't listen to Weller then I'm not staying here, it's the only thing that gives me pleasure in this place'
But outside of the pub Steve there was me and Rich, Kim, Ya Dad,Bro,Mum,Chloe,Danny and of course Steph, we all loved you and we know that you loved us.
So many good times to remember, Prague when you were ripped off(twice in a day) and when we discovered slivovice. God that was messy, when I made you snort Chekov Ice, when you kicked down the toilet door to find not a drug user but a bloody big bloke having a dump, when I made you take a holiday and when you met you met Steph.
If I could have one thing mate, I want you back.
To the Best Boss in the World
I am so priveleged to be able to say you are my friend. I always looked forward to working with you, there was never a dull moment! Special moments that stand out for me:
* That bloody gnome song
* Bleach in the dish washer
* Pointing out the exits
* Sunday nights watching Top Gear with Rich's Meals on Wheels
I will never forget the songs you would play over and over on the duke box- used to drive people crazy!
Dream lover, Ruber ball, Mack the Knife and then of course the Weller.
Thank you for always looking after me, cheering me up, and encouraging me to follow my dreams.
Garry Oakley will never be the same without you. You were the life and soul of those nights.
I'm so glad you met someone who brought you such happiness (Steph) because that is what you deserve and that is how I will remember you, as the happy tigger you were.
Thanks

Thanks for your superb performance at last years Christchurch Regatta... Thanks for alot of fun times.. Remember that Dodgy stripper in Samsons where she tried in vain to humiliate you on your birthday.. You were more than a match for her antics.. And didnt we all laugh...But most of all thanks for being a really special guy....Played peacock suit last night at Longs in your Honour... Because you should be as proud as that peacock..God Bless..Thanks for the memorys...
you made me smile, you made me laugh x
When i first met you - you were lying next to a naked shop dummy in a double bed on the stage at club x karaoke! We all had some hilarious times there didnt we? and then when you all moved over to Samsons and the Villa - the fun continued - for many years - even with the chili peppers playing on the jukebox! ( im sure you liked them really!) over the last couple of years we have shared good times and bad times and we helped each other - you were my shoulder to cry on when i needed it and I made you stand on that stage at Christchurch and sing in front of hundreds of people! You blew them away darlin' didnt you?! My last night out with you was a hoot we went to The Landmarc and saw Jimmy Jones the comedian - you fell off your chair laughing when he took the mickey out of me! and even Tuesday nights karaoke is a memory of smiles as i see you playing air guitar with the wooden broom!
I never knew what to expect on karaoke nights - i think probably the most memorable though would be the night you and Danny took your trousers down and sat on two toilets on the villa stage! ( i have the photo!) You flashed your bottom a lot! you were very proud of it! Steve , you should be proud full stop - proud to be such a wonderful and special man who touched the hearts of many - you have and always will have - many friends x
In recent weeks you have been happier than ever - planning your future with Steph away from this place that threatened to engulf you - My heart goes out to Steph, and the rest of your family and close friends - who like me - will miss you every day of our lives. God bless hun x i love you xx
I was at college with Steve some 23 years ago, I have not seen him since, but what a shock.
You were a great bloke
RIP
I am so so sad to find out this tragic news about Steve. We'd only messaged each other on FaceBook last week and I was coming down for a visit. Can't believe it, truely shocked.
Reading through the tributes on the Echo website it's amazing how many people he touched, including us former barmaids - Kat, Ursula, Fran, Christa & others...
I have many fond memories of Samsons and helped Steve when he went to pick up Harry as a puppy. Can recall him going mental any time someone put Red Hot Chili Peppers on the jukebox and rolling his eyes at me always choosing Metallica. Funny the little things you remember.
I feel distraught enough so cannot even begin to imagine what close friends and relatives are feeling. You are all in my thoughts.
Kat (& husband Steve)
